Little Women

Four sisters named Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March reside in New England with their mother. The sisters struggle to sustain themselves and keep their home running despite the fact that the family recently lost its riches while their father is overseas serving as a chaplain in the Civil War. In the process, they develop a close friendship with Theodore Laurence, also known as "Laurie," their rich neighbor.

As the girls get older, they each deal with their own moral dilemmas and personal problems. Jo, the film's protagonist, must learn to control her tomboyish tendencies and become more ladylike while following her dream of becoming a successful author. The oldest, Meg, must set aside her love of material possessions and extravagant behavior in order to follow her heart. Amy, the youngest, must give up her aristocratic pride, while Beth, the quiet one, must overcome her shyness. The girls' mother, "Marmee," and their religious beliefs serve as their guides in terms of personal development.

1. Jo March

Jo March is a tomboyish, irritable, geeky fifteen-year-old girl when we first meet her. It drives her insane that she can't go and fight in the Civil War alongside her father since she loves activity and can't stand to be left on the sidelines. Jo stood for the prospect of a different kind of life during a time when women's lives were confined to the home and hearth. Jo always leaves you with the impression that anything is possible, especially for a woman.

2. Amy March

Ambitious, self-centered, and artistic. Amy is a little bit spoiled because she is the youngest kid in a big family. Marmee, Meg, and Beth frequently indulge her, but Jo's temper keeps her in check. Amy has a tendency toward dramatization and selfishness, and she might become angry when people belittle her. She also has a strong sense of ambition, which will help her succeed in life. Amy combines her innate artistic energy with a keen sense of reality. With the cards she's been handed, she wants to live her best life possible.

3. Meg March

Meg is the oldest daughter and assists Marmee in managing their home. She is also the sister that adheres to propriety the most. She does, nevertheless, have a romantic side and a love of elegance. Meg envies her wealthy friends' extravagant lifestyles, but in reality, she often feels most at home in the basic domesticity of her modest house. Meg quit school after completing her early schooling to work to support her family. But she despises her job to the point of insanity, especially because she works for an affluent family who serve as a constant reminder of what she previously had. She makes every effort to bear her weight, nevertheless.

4. Beth March

Beth always strives to find the positive whereas her sisters are prone to complaining. She is content with what she has and does not demand more. She serves as the family's unifying force in many ways, and she always takes Marmee's moral guidance to heart. Beth always puts others before herself, in contrast to her sisters, who can be a little self-centered at times. This is true even when she is dealing with health problems of her own. Beth has a strong sense of morality and a great deal of empathy, despite her seeming shyness and timidity.

5. Laurie Laurence

Laurie was sent to live with his wealthy grandfather after the death of his adventurous parents. Laurie spends his downtime with his lively neighbors, the March sisters, while he studies for Harvard. Romantic Meg, tomboy Jo, timid Beth, and melodramatic Amy all have a beneficial impact on Laurie thanks to their high moral standards. Particularly Jo rapidly becomes his closest friend and confidant. Laurie was brought up to be a gentleman, but he has a cheeky sense of humor. At his worst, Laurie may be spoiled, egotistical, and self-indulgent; he occasionally takes advantage of his riches and status for granted. But when Laurie is at his best, which is typically when he is among the March sisters, he is wise, kind, and watchful. He has always regarded the March family as an honorary member, and he would do anything for them.
